2017 To-Be-Read Piles, Bookish Fun!

March To-Be-Read 2018

Hey Guys! It is Max here and I will, ironically, be doing my very first TBR of the year and do not even get me started on the lack of articles that I have been putting up since the beginning of this year. But, I have a good reason for it. I did not really produce many articles on my blog this year due to the stressful amount of homework that I am currently having in my school. In addition, I am having my finals this year which is frightening that my new life in college is going to start soon which is next year.

So, with those things aside, I would like to dive head-on into my March TBR 2018 list. I probably would not be able to read all of them, but I will most certainly try! Now, the first on my To-Be-Read list is:

1. Curse Workers Trilogy By Holly Black

Image result for white cat trilogy

Cassel comes from a family of curse workers: people who have the power to change your emotions, your memories, your luck, by the slightest touch of their hands. And since curse work is illegal, they’re all criminals. Many become mobsters and con artists. But not Cassel. He hasn’t got magic, so he’s an outsider; the straight kid in a crooked family. You just have to ignore one small detail – he killed his best friend, Lila, three years ago.

Cassel has carefully built up a facade of normalcy, blending into the crowd. But his facade starts to crumble when he finds himself sleepwalking, propelled into the night by terrifying dreams about a white cat that wants to tell him something. He’s noticing other disturbing things, too, including the strange behaviour of his two brothers. They are keeping secrets from him. As Cassel begins to suspect he’s part of a huge con game, he must unravel his past and his memories. To find out the truth, Cassel will have to outcon the conmen.

Me, speaking:

Oh my goodness, you guys. I already finished the first book which I am planning on doing a full non-spoiler but will contain some mini spoilers book review on this blog and I am currently reading the second book- Red Gloves which is equally as charming as the first novel! I can’t wait to finish this trilogy! And I highly recommend all of you to check this gorgeous book out!

My rating for White Cat on Goodreads: ✶✶✶✶✶

Red Gloves Page Count: 104/325

2. City Of Bones, City Of Ashes and City Of Glass By Cassandra Clare

Image result for city of bones and city of ashes

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder― much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing―not even a smear of blood―to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know…

Me, speaking (again):

Again, I finished the first book- City Of Bones this month and I thought it was rather mediocre. Initially, I thought it would be an extremely fantastic book since this book had been adapted into films and a television series… However, I found the beginning of the book to be rather anti-climatic and if you would like to know more about what I had in mind for this book, do visit my City Of Bones review! I will be linking it down below for you guys to check it out:

Review: City Of Bones By Cassandra Clare

Also, because I thought the ending for book one in the Shadowhunters series was absolutely fabulous (unlike the beginning of the novel), I had decided to continue on with this series! And with that being said, I am currently reading City Of Ashes along with Red Gloves which I thought both of them are entertaining me enough to not distract the chemicals in my brain to another novel.

My rating for City Of Bones on Goodreads: ✶✶✶⋆

City Of Ashes Page Count: 125/411

3. Angelfall By Susan Ee

  Image result

It’s been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Travelling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels’ stronghold in San Francisco where she’ll risk everything to rescue her sister and he’ll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

Me, Speaking (x2 again):

I bought Angelfall By Susan Ee recently due to the fact that I have Book Two and Book Three on my bookshelf without book one to join the collection which led to a problem… I cannot read this trilogy without reading book one. Therefore, the purchases. However, I have been eyeing on this novel before I have gotten the second and third book! And in time, it has sparked something in me which has gotten me curious on what it is about! Thus, I cannot wait to read it this month!

4. Agent Darcy & Ninja Steve: Tiger Trouble By Grant Goodman

   Image result

Thirteen-year-old Agent Darcy is one of the top students at the Bureau of Sneakery, where there are three rules every agent must follow: never make friends with an outsider, never speak of the Bureau, and never reveal your real name. Lately, Darcy has hit a rough patch: her rival, Agent Serena, keeps outdoing her. If things keep going this way, Darcy is convinced that no one will ever assign her a real mission.

Ninja Steve’s city, Ninjastoria, is the home of sword fights, throwing stars, and Tae Kwon Donuts. Unlike his genius older sister, twelve-year-old Steve isn’t the best ninja student. He’d rather be swinging a sword instead of taking notes in class. Steve, however, is about to learn that being a true ninja means far more than being able to use a sword.

When Darcy is sent to Ninjastoria as an exchange student, it will turn both of their lives upside-down and raise all kinds of questions:

What do the mecha-moles want? Who is the man in the grey mask? What do ninjas eat for lunch? And why is there a menacing tiger on the cover of this book?

Me, Speaking (x3 again):

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a middle-grade novel and it is pretty short which I am planning on reading over the weekend. So, I am sure the review for this novel will be out soon! And I had read some pretty good reviews on Goodreads about this book that I could not wait to get my eyes on those words beneath the cover! Therefore, I am excited to read this novel!

5. Rebels and Fools David Michael Williams

   Image result

The greatest peace treaty in Altaerran history is unravelling. As civil war threatens the Continent United, two fallen Knights of Superius are forced to join the rebels they once condemned. Hounded by assassins and assailed by doubt, they flee to Capricon in search of answers — only to discover the island harbours dark secrets of its own.

Alongside a mostly reformed thief, a dethroned pirate king, a mysterious woman with a magical sword, and other would-be heroes, the fugitives encounter a sinister power that has taken root within the Alliance. If the Renegades and Knighthood can’t rise above their bitter rivalry, both factions — and the realm itself — are doomed.

Me, Speaking (x4 again):

I had been putting this book off most my TBR because of how unmotivated I was at the time when I was extremely stressful and do not wish to read any fantasy novels. I would not say that I am not very stress now, but I am in the mood for some fantasy to invade into my brain. Thus, I cannot wait to read this novel- soon!

6. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay by J.K Rowling

Image result for Fantastic beasts book

J.K. Rowling’s screenwriting debut is captured in this exciting hardcover edition of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them screenplay.

When Magizoologist Newt Scamander arrives in New York, he intends his stay to be just a brief stopover. However, when his magical case is misplaced and some of Newt’s fantastic beasts escape, it spells trouble for everyone…

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them marks the screenwriting debut of J.K. Rowling, author of the beloved and internationally bestselling Harry Potter books. Featuring a cast of remarkable characters, this is epic, adventure-packed storytelling at its very best.

Whether an existing fan or new to the wizarding world, this is a perfect addition to any reader’s bookshelf.

Me, Speaking (x5 again):

I finished this screenplay in a sitting and I thought it was a magical journey to be in the wizarding world again! Although I have absolutely 0 idea on how I should annotate and what kind of style I should perform for this review, I will still try my best to do it anyways. Therefore, I enjoyed reading this beautiful book!

My Rating for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay by J.K Rowling on Goodreads: ✶✶✶✶

Before I end this exciting TBR article that I just made, I would like to share an announcement with you guys! I have yet to review the following books down below:

  • Ocean at the end of the lane By Neil Gaiman
  • Viral Spark By Martin McConnell
  • White Cat By Holly Black
  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay by J.K Rowling

The thing is, I have not had the time to review them which is a bummer because I would really like to release my thoughts on all of these books to you guys! However, I would be reviewing them soon but it will be a tedious process because I can only be stringing up reviews when I have some time off from homework and revision and all that stuff. So, sorry for all the wait and sorry again!

This is the end of my March TBR list and I will probably add a few more books onto the list but as for now, I am going to stick to whatever books that I have put onto the list of books that I am going to read this month! Therefore, I hope you all enjoyed it and let me know your March TBR down in the comment box below! Follow me with your email/WordPress account to get notifications when I post a new article! Bye!

Book Review

City Of Bones By Cassandra Clare || Book Review

Hey Guys! It is Max here and I will be doing a book review for ‘City Of Bones’ by Cassandra Clare today! Just to let you guys know: I actually have two pending book reviews that have reached the deadline that I had set up to write before reviewing this novel but I have so much to say about this novel that I have to push all the others aside before my utterly forgetful brain neglects on what I have wanted to speak on. Therefore, let us get this review started!

But wait! Before we get into the remarkably detailed side of the review, I would like to cultivate a mini-synopsis for this blockbuster before we move our eyes into the review that will be performed later on in this article! So, here goes the synopsis of this novel:

City Of Bones is a Young Adult, Paranormal Fantasy novel following Clary Fray as her mother disappears from her life and finding out that she is part of an angelic race which her mother had been determined to keep her from knowing all these years that she had been living with her.

Now, we can finally get into the official review for the novel!

  • All thoughts and opinions are on my own and…
  • Be aware of some mild spoilers as this is a novel that is hard to contain everything systematically! So, let us now jump into the review!

Image result for city of bones

“The boy never cried again, and he never forgot what he’d learned: that to love is to destroy, and that to be loved is to be the one destroyed.”- City Of Bones, Cassandra Clare.

Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know…

My thoughts: The Beginning

The very first thing that I would like to talk about in this review is the diversity that the author had installed in this novel. I loved how the author had represented a gay character in this novel because to me, I feel like there were not much representation of the LGBTQIA+ community in YA novels and the fact that the author had laid the community in this novel was just fantastic! Therefore, I liked the diverse cast of characters in this book!

Moving on, I would like to discuss on the relationship that Cassie had deposited in this novel. The relationships between the characters were very unique and magical that I thought it was a great experience to have with the casts in this book because everything was not one-dimensional but complex and hard to guess (Does it make sense? I hope so) that I just really relished on how beautiful the experience that I had with this book was. Thus, I enjoyed the relationships that the author had dropped into this book.

Furthermore, we have the pacing that I would like to rattle on in this book review. I would not say that the pacing of this novel is fast or anything because it literally took me two weeks to finish this book due to the level of hardness at the beginning of the novel which I will talk more about later on in the review. However, as I had gotten past the first 150 pages of explanation and the ‘Wikipedia’ of the world, I was immediately sucked back into the story and the pages flew by so quickly that I had a hard time knowing that I actually reached the certain page count. Thus, I did not enjoy the pacing for the beginning of the novel but overall, I thought the pacing was pretty good!

Moreover, we have the beginning and the ending of the novel that I have to converse on in this review. The beginning which I will be conversing on first was filled with world-building and although I enjoyed how well the author had built the world, I could not help but feel how aridity and anti-climatic the beginning was. It was not that the world was not interesting, it was just that the author had included too much of information that resulted in information overload. Plus, nothing really happened in the beginning except for the planning that the characters’ had to bring Clary’s mother back. Thus, I kind of hated the beginning of the book.

In addition, the ending which was non-identical to the beginning of the novel was juicy, action-packed and overall frustrating (in a good way). The ending of the novel clutched on my heart, burned it to the ground and put it back into my chest again with no remorse except for the blisters on it that will never be healed ever again. Sorry for being so dramatic but I really loved the ending for this novel and because of that, I have decided to read book 2: City Of Ashes!

Into the bargain, we have the world-building and atmosphere of this novel that I have to include in this review! The world-building, just like what I have said earlier, was great and it enhanced the reading experience for us, readers. However, the author had included too much of the functions of the world in the beginning that I really found it to be an extremely hard segment to get through. In addition, the atmosphere for this book was exceptionally good because it increased my heart rate as the scenes had gotten intense and while I was reading this book, I can feel the chemicals that were working hard and revolving much around my brain. Plus, when the story came to a closure and the plot twists damaged my brain temporarily, I felt so drowsy that I had to read the next book almost immediately. Thus, I liked the world-building but not that much and I loved the atmospheres that were gyrating around this novel.

Finally, we have the favourite quote segment that I would like to address on in this review. My favourite quote from this novel was:

“By the Angel,” Jace said, looking the demon up and down. “I knew Greater Demons were meant to be ugly, but no one ever warned me about the smell.”
Abbadon opened its mouth and hissed. Inside its mouth were two rows of jagged glass-sharp teeth.
“I’m not sure about this wind and howling darkness business,” Jace went on, “smells more like landfill to me. You sure you’re not from Staten Island?”- City Of Bones, Cassandra Clare.

This quote was not the best quote in the whole book but I thought it was funny, idiosyncratic and weird to be a favourite quote throughout the novel but still, I thought it was a great quote and I loved it so, don’t judge me.

Now, let us get into the writing section of this review!

Writing: The Middle

Cassandra Clare’s style of writing in this novel was not the best writing style out there- in the literature world, but I did really enjoy how she held onto some interesting words and made them lively. So, here goes the review of the writing style in this book!

The writing style for this book was chatty, articulate, idiomatic and sometimes- verbose. The reason why I said the writing style was verbose because of its constant used of unnecessary sentences to get to the main point that the characters’ were trying to harangue on. However, the writing style was also pretty informal which I, personally, enjoyed because it lets us, readers, see that this is how the characters’ are going to react when they are facing a situation. In addition, it was also very articulate and idiomatic! It keeps the readers in a constant flow of indulging in the book and performing wonders such as their imaginations- in the brain. Thus, I did enjoy the writing style! But I have more to talk about in the below paragraphs.

[Sort of Rant ahead]

Presently, we are going to address on the excessive use of commas in this novel. As you can see, I am not the biggest fan of the redundant use of commas in the writing style because it is pretty hard for the readers to get through them and also, if you dive deeper into the novel, it gets very vexatious. And with all of that that I have said, I thought that this novel’s writing style fell into that category of ‘Commas-are-overused’. Furthermore, there were not enough prose to keep the sentences from breaking apart from each other and I thought the sentences do not flow well as they kept falling apart from each other due to the lack of prose like ‘as, because, etc.’ Therefore, it bothered my reading of this book to death due to the flaws in this novel.

[Out of the rant]

Moving on, we are going to discuss about the word choices that Cassandra’s Clare picked to entwine words together to make them feel alive. I thought Cassie did a really good job on picking out words that were added pleasingly to the story and the word drizzled and diffused through each sentence accordingly. Thus, I enjoyed the careful handing out of words for this novel!

Finally, we have the descriptions of the novel that I would like to talk about. The descriptions which I really enjoyed drifted through the book as the scenes in this novel were thoughtfully picked out and the descriptions that had taken place in the book had made everything so easy to be visualized in the brain that I had no hard time trying to conceive anything in my head. Thus, I enjoyed the beautiful descriptions in the novel.

Now, let jump right into the characters’ break down section of this review!

Characters: The 3/4 Section Of The Review

Clary Fray: Almost everyone on the internet called her out as an annoying protagonist but I thought otherwise. To me, Clary was a sympathetic character that I commiserate with and she was somewhat dumb at times but never annoying because the shreds of evidence were clearly placed in front of her eyes but she still managed to overlook them. Furthermore, she was a little cliché because her characterization fell under the category of ‘She-is-pretty-and-I-am-not’ but other than those flaws, I thought she was kind and decent. Therefore, I liked her as a character in this novel.

Simon Lewis: To be honest, I do not really enjoy Simon as a character in this book even though he had the potential to grow as a character in the later novels but I just did not enjoy his perspective because he was whiny, needy and ibwerobgib. Thus, I have nothing to compliment on his character except for the features that he had held.

Jace Wayland: He was the boy with a dark past. Although I did indeed sympathize with how abusive his father was and how everything- for example, the blood that ran in his veins, was not his fault but the blame was somehow atop of his head, he was still a very sarcastic, rude and not-very-sexy person who Isabelle called him out as sexy. I do not understand how a person who is so rude… can be sexy. Therefore, I liked him (again) as a character in this book; but I did not love him as a character in this novel.

Luke Garroway: I loved Luke as a character in this book! He was kind, friendly and ‘Has-Jace’s-Sarcastic-attitude lite‘. He was somehow a character that I commiserate even more because he was stripped of his title as a Shadowhunter and he was also forcefully banned from his own homeland due to the demon disease that flowed in his capillaries. Plus, he was betrayed by his dearest friend who he thought was a brother. Therefore, I loved Luke’s characterization in this novel!

Valentine Morgenstern: I hated him! UGH! THIS VILLAIN WAS A FREAKING ARSEHOLE IN THIS NOVEL LIKE KJFBIJBFABIBFIBA. Basically, words cannot express how irritated (in a good way) I am with him. He was one of the most interesting villains that I had read in a while and I hope he will just jump off the cliff soon. Thus, I loved this villain but hated him (hopefully it makes sense).

Overall: The Ending

Although the ending for this novel was exciting and action-packed, I thought the beginning- somewhere around page 1 to page 100, was pretty dull and anti-climatic. Plus, there were some flaws in this novel that I, personally, did not enjoy. However, I am going to read the sequel to this book because the ending had me shook and I need more of Cassandra Clare’s world and characters. Therefore, I am giving this book a 69.5% rating.

Tay’s Infinite Thought’s Questions:

  • Favorite song cover?

For this question, I have to give credits to Emma Heesters from Emma Heesters on Youtube- ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ by Taylor Swift cover. I, personally, loved both the original and the cover because both of them have beautiful vocals. Thus, that is my favourite song cover from Emma Heesters!

  • Why did you start your blog?

I started book blogging because I love books and literature and I wanted to share my love for books to the world. Also, I wanted to have a voice and an opinion of my own on the books that I liked and disliked so that others will know what they are expecting when they are reading the book. Thus, my reason for starting a book blog!

  • Kindle, Book, or Audiobook?

If I have to pick one of them, I will definitely pick a physical copy of a book because I cannot really concentrate on Kindle and Ebooks normally make me dizzy. As for audiobook, well- I have no problem with audiobooks but they take a little longer to read than a physical copy. Thus, my choice for picking the physical copy of a book.

(If you guys want to have a discussion post for this, I would love to do it for you guys! Just comment down in the box below that you want to have a discussion article for this!)

  • Who is the your most favorite person ever?

Hedgehogs because they are tiny, fluffy, spiky and adorable creatures that I would really like to have them as my pets in the future! Thus, hedgehog is a pet that I would like to own! Here is a cute picture on what a hedgehog is:

  • If you were given a complete free ride to any college of your choosing, what college would you go to and what would be your degree?

I am still in High School and I am graduating next year. Thus, I have no idea how to answer this question. Sorry!

  • If you could be a groupie for any band in the world, what band would you choose?

One Direction? I guess. I love their songs and I think they are extremely nice people. Therefore, One direction is the band I would choose!

  • If you could be any fictional creature, what fictional creature would you be?

An angel with vampire fangs and a glowing halo that is spiralling on top of my head. Yeah, I know I am weird, Thank You.

  • If you could be any of the Greek gods/goddesses which one would you be?

Apollo. He is the God of archery, music, poetry, prophecy, medicine, and later on the God of the sun. I have heard that Rick Riordan books have things relating to Greek Gods but I have yet to read any of them which bums me because I think I am the last person on earth who have not read any Rick Riordan books. Therefore, I am going to read them soon!

  • Favorite genre of music, books, and movies?

Books, of course!

This-Is-My-Truth-Now Book Tag

Hey Guys! It is Max here and today I will be doing the ‘This-Is-My-Truth-Now’ Book Tag! This tag was created by James from This-Is-My-Truth-Now and I was tagged by both of these lovely people from Heidi @ Bookloverblogs and Adieu @ I-Am-Survivor-Blog to do this beautiful tag! Be sure to check out their blogs and articles after you have finished viewing mine!

Here’s a description of the tag said by James:

“So… I’m calling this the “This-Is-My-Truth-Now” or “ThisIsMyTruthNow” tag, and it will be all about telling the truth — my own version of truth or dare… are you scared? Nervous? Jealous that I’m so cool I created my own tag? I know… all in a day’s work. NOT! It’s meant to be fun.”

So, without further ado, let us begin to answer this beautiful tag!

  • If you’ve haven’t been tagged, but you want to play along, you can totally jump on in and post responses to the tag on your blog.

The Questions:

  • You’re on your way to a birthday dinner that your friends have thrown for you. When you arrive, your favorite author is having dinner by himself or herself and asks you to sit with them, before you even see your friends or they see you. You have two choices:
  1. You can sit with the author but can’t tell your friends that you’ve abandoned them for three hours, or…
  2. Meet your friends and lose the only chance you’ll ever have to talk with the author.

Pick one or the other — no exceptions or communication to your friends to tell them about the author — and explain why.

Answer: I will probably attend the birthday dinner that my friends have thrown for me because that dinner must have taken up a whole lot of time for them to prepare and also, I feel a little guilty for abandoning my friends! So, I am going for option (2). As for option (1), I can probably meet the author at a book signing event. Therefore, option (2) is the one that I am going to pick!

  • You’ve got an opportunity to spend a few hours alone “in your bedroom” with a character from any book you’ve previously read. The character tells you that (s)he would like to lock the door and spend some alone time with you. What book and character is it, and do you decide to enter the room and lock the door, or tell them you aren’t interested?

Answer: Okay, this question creeps me out. I will not let that character to lock the door and spend some ‘alone’ time with me. Who knows what he/she is going to do? Even if that specific character is one of my favourite characters of all time, I will not let he/she to do it.

  • If you could turn any male character from one of your favorite books into a female character (or change a female into a male) in the book or book series, which one and why?

Answer: I do not know how to answer this question because I really enjoyed most of the genders from the books that I read from and I do not wish to change any of their genders. So, NO gender swaps here.

  • What blogger currently on your follower’s list (meaning they follow you too) do you admire the most and why?

Answer: Actually, I admire all of the bloggers out there because they take a lot of effort and time to build-up their blog and make their blog easier for visitors to view. So, yay to all of the bloggers!

  • If you could change any one decision your favorite book character made, what would it be and why?

Answer: This question is going to contain mild spoilers for Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor! So, read it at your own risk!

One of the decision on what I really wish is that Karou did not break the wishbone! But she did and it made me cry like a baby. Either way, it is a great story and I cannot wait to re-read this book over and over again!

  • If you could pick 1 character from a book and 1 character from a TV show you watch (that is NOT based on a book) to be in a relationship together, who would you choose, and why?

Answer: I am going to ship Dylan Minnette from ‘thirteen reasons why’ and Mare from ‘Red Queen’ by Victoria Aveyard to be in a relationship together because I do not know why. But what I do know is that this is a weird shipping and I like it.

  • It’s your last day on Earth. As you are about to cross that final finish line, a mysterious shadow appears, giving you a choice:
  1. You can go move forward to whatever comes next for you [based on your own spiritual or religious beliefs], or…
  2. You can become a character in a book series and exist permanently doing whatever that author chooses to do with you in the book.

Which do you choose, and if it’s option 2, reveal the book and author.

Answer: I will choose…. Option (2). I will let Laini Taylor do the job and I will exist in the book series called ‘Daughter of Smoke and Bone’, obviously. Because I loved that book series so, so much!

  • If you could steal a pet from someone in any book you’ve read, but had to replace it with a friend’s pet (meaning they wouldn’t ever see their pet again), would you do it?  If so, explain the who and why.

Answer: Nah. I mean No. Because it is very bad to steal my friend’s pet to exchange for my own selfish purposes. Furthermore, they love their pets, so why steal them? Therefore, my answer is a big NO.

  • If you could turn someone from real life into a character from a book, who from your life, who in the book and why?

Answer: I am going to pass on this question because… I have no idea how to answer this! I am so sorry!

  • Post a picture of the cover of a book you read in 2000 and the book you are currently reading now. (Note: if you weren’t alive in 2000, pick the first book you ever read and tell everyone what year it was from).

  • Your favorite character (under 18) needs a place to stay for 3 months and asks you if (s)he could stay in your spare room (yes, you have one for the sake of this question). Who is it and what is the reason (s)he needs to stay with you?

Answer: Here’s the story for this question…

Karou wanted to stay with me because we were long-lost best friends that had tried to get in touch for several times but failed owing to the fact of how bad the timing and everything else were. So, she had decided to stay with me for 3 months to try to know me better and also, to try to catch up with every little things that were going around town. I talked to her about it and after three months, she left and said, “I will be back! Max”

Sorry for how bad the story was and also, I am so sorry for hurting your eyes!

  • What is one thing you wished you learned but haven’t yet? (Note: This is the question each person can change when they tag their own nominees)

Answer: I wish I can acquire the skills of reading faster and also, out of a reading slump in a matter of seconds! But, I have not learned those skills yet and I probably will acquire them in the future! So, yes.. I have hope for my future!

My Nominees:

Truth or Dare:

TRUTH OR DARE: This will be the last part of This-is-my-truth-now book tag. If you choose not to accept the tag, you will have to follow through on whatever dare the person who tags you chooses — for my nominees, if you choose not to do this tag, your dare is to say good things such as, ‘I love you, book’ to the books you hated for 30 days! MUAHAHAHAHA! And please, DO NOT cheat!

A book that makes me happy? Definitely Fangirl! I read this book last year and I can still remember everything that has happened in it! (Maybe not every single little detail…But still…)

Image result for The coldest girl in coldtown and The knife of never letting go

I heard mixed reviews about ‘The Coldest Girl In Coldtown’ by Holly Black. Either people die-hard love this book or they dislike this book..like a lot. So, I decided to pick this book up from the bookstore because the synopsis sounded fantastic. But, I ended up DNF-ing it because the characters and the story itself did not really catch any of my attention, so..yes. I DNFed it.

I have dreamt about this book in the past. I dreamt of Karou, Akiva and Zuzana. I was in a war with them at both of my sides and they were speaking to each other until I woke up and realized that it was all just a dream… {How unfortunate, I wish it could last forever}

Oh my gosh~ This book..People.. Those plot twists. I cannot even… Okay. Yep. I am not going to spoil anything but please read Red Queen first before reading Glass Sword because these books are fabulous!

All wars or other big fights should end in a one-on-one combat. WHY!? This cliché is overdone and I really didn’t like it.

*Note: This is a book, not a book series.* This book is so underrated! Marcus Sedgwick’s writing style for this book was beautiful and the characters in it were fabulous but this book is underrated! I will be linking my review for ‘The Ghost Of Heaven’ here: The Ghost Of Heaven By Marcus Sedgwick

This is the end of the ‘What Cats Do’ book tag! I am not going to tag anyone, but if you would like to do this tag, feel free to do it! Well, I hope you guys enjoyed this article and follow me via email/wordpress account to get notifications when I upload a new article! Bye!

Coffee Book Tag

Hey Guys! I will be doing the ‘Coffee Book Tag’ today! I am not really a “Coffee-Drinker”, but, I really want to try out this tag and I would probably make a cup of coffee for myself later.

So, without further ado, let’s get into the Coffee Book Tag!

Image result for lord of the rings book set

Lord of the Rings is one of the hardest book series to get into- at least, to me. Unlike The Hobbit series which I loved, some of the scenes in the Lord of the Rings series are kind of boring, in my personal opinion.

I find that Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle gets more popularity during the festive time of the year, because of the title, you know? SNOW.

(All the books that was written by Laini Taylor kept me on the edge of my seat because her books/stories are fabulous!)

And please read the ‘Daughter of Smoke and Bone’ trilogy if you have yet to read it.

I find Fangirl to be very serene and the storyline is easy to follow. The writing style for this book was fantastic and crisp.
