Hey Humans! I will be doing both spoiler free and spoilery review on Red Queen today! So, without further ado, let’s get into it!
“The truth is what I make it. I could set this world on fire and call it rain.” – Red Queen, Victoria Aveyard.
Synopsis:
This is a world divided by blood – red or silver.
The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change.
That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power.
Fearful of Mare’s potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime.
Writing:
The writing style for this book was so mysterious and rich. I was utterly shocked that this is her debut novel/series because the writing style for this book was marvelous and the plot of this book kept me wanting for more.
Characters:
The characters are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The characters developments in this book was massive. It’s hard to actually differentiate who is good and who is bad until you reach the end of the book.
Overall:
I love this book and I can’t wait to read King’s Cage! I give this book a 91% rating.
Spoiler Section:
“Anyone can betray anyone.” – Red Queen, Victoria Aveyard.
Well, that betrayal scene. My mind was completely blown away. I trusted him -Maven- and now, he left me there, speechless. I have no words to describe how that betrayal…just UGH!
And Maven’s mother… just… such an a… yeah, I cannot even form a proper sentence. That rage in my heart and that plot twist ruined me. It destroyed me. *Tears*
“I told you to hide your heart once. You should have listened.” – Red Queen, Victoria Aveyard
This is the end of my both spoilery and non-spoilery review! I hope you enjoyed this and I will come to you with another book review on thursday! Follow me to receive notifications when I post a new article! Bye!

I totally agree with you about Maven. Between him and Cal, he was my choice, and I feel so betrayed too.

I adored this book and I haven’t read the next two yet; I really want to! I was surprised that it was her debut, too; her writing style is incredible, particularly for a YA fantasy writer. Love your reviews!
