Most Anticipated Books Of 2018

Hey Guys! It is Max here and I will be doing my ‘Most Anticipated Books Of 2018’ Article today! I know my schedule for this mini-series is supposed to be due on the 1st of January but I had many things to do and the following days just got worse. Therefore, I did not follow the schedule. Sorry!

As for now, I am going to restate the schedule and links down below and apparently, this is going to be the last article for this mini-series which I do not wish to leave but I must. So, I will probably perform more of these types of content on my channel and do let me know if you like this mini-series down in the comment box below!

Statement:

Just like my previous article which is called the ‘Favourite Books Of 2017’, I had mentioned about a mini-series that I will be performing on my blog and the only article that I have yet to make is ‘My Most Anticipated Reads Of 2018’ and that article will be performed today. So, here is the list of what I will be doing for my blog’s bookish mini-series:

  1. Worst Books Of 2017
  2. Favourite Books Of 2017
  3. Most Anticipated Books Of 2017

Now, with that statement being said, let us jump into my ‘Most Anticipated Books Of 2018’ list!

1. The Cruel Prince By Holly Black

Synopsis:

Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

Me:

I cannot wait to read this book because of how awesome it sounded and the cover is absolutely stunning! In addition, I am ready to give another chance to Holly Black because I did not love ‘The Coldest Girl In Coldtown’ but I am willing to give that book another go before I move into ‘The Cruel Prince’. So, wish me luck!

2. War Storm By Victoria Aveyard

Synopsis:

VICTORY COMES AT A PRICE.

Mare Barrow learned this all too well when Cal’s betrayal nearly destroyed her. Now determined to protect her heart—and secure freedom for Reds and newbloods like her—Mare resolves to overthrow the kingdom of Norta once and for all… starting with the crown on Maven’s head.

But no battle is won alone, and before the Reds may rise as one, Mare must side with the boy who broke her heart in order to defeat the boy who almost broke her. Cal’s powerful Silver allies, alongside Mare and the Scarlet Guard, prove a formidable force. But Maven is driven by an obsession so deep, he will stop at nothing to have Mare as his own again, even if it means demolishing everything—and everyone—in his path.

War is coming, and all Mare has fought for hangs in the balance. Will victory be enough to topple the Silver kingdoms? Or will the little lightning girl be forever silenced?

Me:

I am dead. I cannot believe that this series is coming to an end because all of my babies in this series had suffered through so much of Victoria Aveyard’s evil satisfaction and I just love this series and I do not wish for it to end but at the same time, I would like to see how it concludes… Therefore, I am the guy in between of the two categories.

Either way, I am still excited to read this concluding novel!

3. Ash Princess By Laura Sebastian

Synopsis:

Theodosia was six when her country was invaded and her mother, the Queen of Flame and Fury, was murdered before her eyes. Ten years later, Theo has learned to survive under the relentless abuse of the Kaiser and his court as the ridiculed “Ash Princess.” Pretending to be empty-headed and naive when she’s not enduring brutal whippings, she pushes down all other thoughts but one: Keep the Kaiser happy and he will keep you safe.

When the Kaiser forces her to execute her last hope of rescue, Theo can’t keep her feelings and memories pushed down any longer. She vows revenge, throwing herself into a plot to seduce and murder the Kaiser’s warrior son with the help of a group of magically gifted and volatile rebels. But Theo doesn’t expect to develop feelings for the Prinz. Or for her rebel allies to challenge her friendship with the one person who’s been kind to her throughout the last hopeless decade: her heart’s sister, Cress.

Cornered into impossible choices and unable to trust even those who are on her side, Theo will have to decide how far she’s willing to go to save her people and how much of herself she’s willing to sacrifice to become queen.

Me:

This book has a truly blessed and remarkable cover that I just could not take my eyes off of and the synopsis for this book, which is pushing my pure adrenaline to the brim, feels and reads like Red Queen. Thus, I am so pumped for this book and I cannot wait for it to be released into this beautiful world!

4. Sightwitch By Susan Dennard

Image result

Synopsis:

Set a year before TruthwitchSightwitch follows Ryber Fortiza, the last Sightwitch Sister as she treks deep underground to rescue her missing best friend. While there, she encounters a young Nubrevnan named Kullen Ikray, who has no memory of who he is or how he wound up inside the mountain. As the two journey ever deeper in search of answers, and as they brave one close call after another, a tentative friendship forms between them—one that might one day grow into something more.

Sightwitch is told through Ryber’s journal entries and her sketches, as well as through supplementary materials (such as other journals, pieces of songs, clippings from history books, flashbacks, etc.). Though meant as a companion novella, this story serves as a set up to Bloodwitch as well as an expansion of the world.

Me:

Is it just me or are you guys also excited to read Sightwitch? I loved how Susan Dennard had crafted the world of Truthwitch and Ryber- a sightwitch, always interest as a character in Truthwitch. Therefore, I cannot wait to read this novella and know who Ryber really is!

5. Ace Of Shades Amanda Foody

Synopsis:

Welcome to the City of Sin, where casino families reign, gangs infest the streets…
and secrets hide in every shadow.

Enne Salta was raised as a proper young lady, and no lady would willingly visit New Reynes, the so-called City of Sin. But when her mother goes missing, Enne must leave her finishing school—and her reputation—behind to follow her mother’s trail to the city where no one survives uncorrupted.

Frightened and alone, her only lead is a name: Levi Glaisyer. Unfortunately, Levi is not the gentleman she expected—he’s a street lord and a con man. Levi is also only one payment away from cleaning up a rapidly unraveling investment scam, so he doesn’t have time to investigate a woman leading a dangerous double life. Enne’s offer of compensation, however, could be the solution to all his problems.

Their search for clues leads them through glamorous casinos, illicit cabarets and into the clutches of a ruthless mafia donna. As Enne unearths an impossible secret about her past, Levi’s enemies catch up to them, ensnaring him in a vicious execution game where the players always lose. To save him, Enne will need to surrender herself to the city…

And she’ll need to play.

Me:

This book has an amazing cover and the synopsis sounded marvellous as well. Thus, I cannot wait to read this amazing book.

6. A Line In The Dark Malinda Lo

Synopsis:

The line between best friend and something more is a line always crossed in the dark.

Jess Wong is Angie Redmond’s best friend. And that’s the most important thing, even if Angie can’t see how Jess truly feels. Being the girl no one quite notices is OK with Jess anyway. While nobody notices her, she’s free to watch everyone else. But when Angie begins to fall for Margot Adams, a girl from the nearby boarding school, Jess can see it coming a mile away. Suddenly her powers of observation are more curse than gift.

As Angie drags Jess further into Margot’s circle, Jess discovers more than her friend’s growing crush. Secrets and cruelty lie just beneath the carefree surface of this world of wealth and privilege, and when they come out, Jess knows Angie won’t be able to handle the consequences.

When the inevitable darkness finally descends, Angie will need her best friend.

“It doesn’t even matter that she probably doesn’t understand how much she means to me. It’s purer this way. She can take whatever she wants from me, whenever she wants it, because I’m her best friend.”

A Line in the Dark is a story of love, loyalty, and murder.

Me:

Night Film- a book which I loved last year and had made it up to the top of my favourite books of 2017, had really inspired me to read more mystery/thriller novels and now, A Line In The Dark is making its way into the world and I cannot wait to read it because it sounds so remarkable!

7. Heart Of Iron By Ashley Poston

  2. It’s a pleasure to hear from you again. Thanks for the like on my 2017 reading. Congrats on your continued reading and excellent reviews. Our reading interests are vastly different … but so are our ages. I’m delighted to see To Kill a Mockingbird resonated with you. Hah … When I first read it, it had only been in print for about 5 years (!). Happy reading.
