LOOK AT HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS BOOK COVER IS! AHHH!
“If I am a sword, I am a sword made of glass, and I feel myself beginning to shatter.” – Glass Sword, Victoria Aveyard.
Synopsis
Mare Barrow’s blood is red—the color of common folk—but her Silver ability, the power to control lightning, has turned her into a weapon that the royal court tries to control.
The crown calls her an impossibility, a fake, but as she makes her escape from Maven, the prince—the friend—who betrayed her, Mare uncovers something startling: she is not the only one of her kind.
Pursued by Maven, now a vindictive king, Mare sets out to find and recruit other Red-and-Silver fighters to join in the struggle against her oppressors.
But Mare finds herself on a deadly path, at risk of becoming exactly the kind of monster she is trying to defeat.
Will she shatter under the weight of the lives that are the cost of rebellion? Or have treachery and betrayal hardened her forever?
Writing:
Once again, Victoria’s writing style is poetic and articulate. This book has complex characters and the tone of this book is so wonderful. It’s fast-paced and I had a fun time reading this book!
Characters:
The characters were great in this book. Mare went through alot of things, one includes [Spoiler removed]. Maven is still the villian and really…I want to shake some sense into him. Cal, well, he went through alot as well..
*I love all of them.*
“Kneel or bleed.” – Glass Sword, Victoria Aveyard.
Overall:
I give this book an (eighty) 80% rating. Honestly, I enjoyed the first book more than the second book. But still, I love both of these books.
Sounds like a really exciting book! Should I start with the first book of the Red Queen series before I read Glass Sword?
